Title: Fuel leak
Post by: homeyjosey on July 09, 2009, 09:13:02 PM
Hi everyone I just got my first motorcycle everything seems fine but there's a small fuel leak on the fuel chicken lever.  It's not dripping but I can smell it and see a little gas.  And this is all while the engine is dead. Is it a big problem to fix and should I even ride it till it's fixed? Thanks

commom mistake on the gs, only thing do, is buy a new one, dont cost alot though, and better do it now, than wait until it's really leaking all over enigne and frame.

He's referring to the fuel chicken, not a new bike, you know, just in case....

Aside from that, I see no reason you can't still ride it. Just don't wear nice pants or park the bike on a nice floor until the leak is taken care of. Make sure all the hose clamps and everything else are tight before you assume anything is actually broken.
