Title: upgrading the front brake reservoir
Post by: tripleb on July 10, 2009, 12:17:57 PM
has anyone ever converted the OEM front brake reservoir to something more modern?  They seem to be available on ebay for as little as $15.  The new SV and GSXR models have the newer versions but the '09 GS models still have the old rectangular ones.

I have no info as far as upgrading, but keep in mind that would also mean you'd have to upgrade to a new brake lever as well, which would cost you more than the initial upgrade. I think those clear plastic cups sticking up off the bars look awful.

GS one is better...the new style ones are easier to open (a little) but let your brake fluid get hit by all the UV rays. Why change it?

I like the look better than the original one and I've got mod fever like many other in this forum.

i have the brake master from a gsxr600, with Rizoma reservoir, and it works just fine, the up side is, that the GS brakelever(94-09) fits, and the little piston inside is 16mm wide, instead of 12mm standard, that gives more brake pressure, and better feeling/control over the brake, and it look alot better :thumb:
