Title: WTB: GS500 Front fork
Post by: malcman on July 12, 2009, 11:46:39 AM
One of my front forks has a score in it and I'm looking for a replacement. The side does not matter as I am just using the inner tube, the cheaper the better but it must be in good condition with no bends or scores/scratches. I have a parts bike and am willing to trade parts if there is something someone needs.

Thanks
Andrew

I am so sorry, the fork I got is nicked right above the seal. Not worth it. And this isn;t the first time I have been fooled by its pristine look, I am going to take the innards out so I know its not a working leg.

You've not paid me right ... OK I'll check and if you have I'll send you the $ back.

Cool.

Hey, nope I never sent any payment :) It's cool, I wonder what causes them to mark like that? mines just above the seal as well.

I have the forks I took off my bike when I did my katana front end swap.  right side seal leaked, but no knicks or scratches on the tube. there are a few small rust pits, but they are between the triples, so wouldn't affect the seal. left side doesn't leak.  will take $50  american dollars, plus whetever it will cost to send to canada.  if interested, let me know.

Oh yea ... its cos they are made of highly refined sheite.
The kat ones are a bit better ... modern sport bikes are not that great either ... honda fares better than the rest of em, but they crap out too.
