Title: A very humble happy person!
Post by: Toogoofy317 on July 14, 2009, 07:28:48 PM
I'm not sure really what to say but thank you! I'm humbled by the care and thought that so many of you have shown toward me since I came on this forum in '07. I've gone through alot and really my Flick is about the only thing that makes me feel like a normal person. It lets me forget for just a little while how much life really sucks. Like today for example therapy from 0800-1200 go home to grab the bike cause it looks nice. Dr. appointment at 1300 sat there for an hour or so Dr. had an emergency and appointment got pushed off. Went to go have blood work missed them by three minutes. Go to another Dr. office to fight with insurance was in there for another two hours. Getting absolutly nowhere walk out dark storm clouds were gathering. I get home getting absolutly nothing done with the thoughts of yup, more therapy tomorrow, another Dr. Appointment an hour away, back on the phone with medicare for God knows how long and try to fit blood work in between! Was, hot and tired and just fell into the couch.

Knock knock, eh what? Oh that's right UPS finally made it. Thank goodness this was a jacket because the box was crushed to the point it didn't look like a box anymore. My eyes light up as the blue peeks out of the mush of a box! It looks just like Flick! I rip into the box with my rescue knife (almost sliced my finger!) and pulled it out. Ah, the smell of new gear can you ever not like that smell? I pull it out look it over checking out the patches (eh about the GSXR but not complaining) feel the mesh material. Run, out the door with it and put it over Flick yup perfect! Run back in the house like a little kid almost too afraid to unzip it fearing it wouldn't fit. Finally I do I look at the liner and feel it nice and soft. Well, here comes the moment of truth I slide it on well that is quite a bit lighter than my GxAir. First thing I notice is that the arms are much smaller. Which was my biggest complaint of the Gx. I adjust the straps on the arms perfect fit! Now, I zip up the jacket hmm just a wee bit snug but then realize that is how the cut fits! Yay I took the liner out and try it again. Ahh, perfect! I figured that this would be my warm weather jacket here in Florida anyhow. I'll use the bigger GX for the colder days so I can layer up!

So, thank you all very much! I am very grateful for the kindness that those of you on here have shown me. Weather you donated or not thank you for being an attentive ear!

I know I'm not very popular around here, but I just want to say -
I'm glad so many of you pulled together to get this charming lady a birthday present.

We're not rich, we're from different backgrounds, and we don't always get along,
but we should take care of our own, not just those in authority.

EVERYONE deserves a little empathy.

Mary, everyone deserves a little happiness in life and from what I have read you more then deserve it. I am a FNG here but I have been on line since it began and been members of many social communities. I have never experienced such a nice group of caring people then this GSTwin community. Though you are the one that received the jacket I think everyone here can enjoy it with you based off of your words and response.

Selling these:

I've worn them about 6 times a few weeks ago; they've been sitting in the closet ever since.  So, basically brand new.
One size fits all.

$50

Air flow through them is pretty good.  You can barely notice them under jeans, but kind of noticeable under slacks.  They didn't bunch up behind the knee or sag, even on my skinny sticks.

Jesus Christ, she could probably use some new throw pillows too while you're at it... :icon_rolleyes:

How about you save that money for another nice gesture to a GSTWIN member down the road? I bet members would support that.

I don't know, a forum treasurer seems kinda out of scope but it would be nice to do little things for members from time to time...Of course, I can also see how such a thing could get out of hand.

im not one to say "yea or nay", either way, that decision. should be left up to those that contributed, and even those who did not should have a sayso, IMHO of course, ill audit tonight and post tally. ive got to separate funds which were wired to me ( for veh. repairs, and such,)ill include all donors, EXCEPT those who asked to remain anonymous. ( ill edit out names of such, but leave amounts intact) and post this tonight. provided im not at ED again (bad day in back land lol :(  )
