Title: small highway route between NYC and Philly - time is not a factor
Post by: sclegend on July 15, 2009, 12:17:53 AM
I know this was asked/answered before, but the route link is no longer available.

What small highways would you recommend for a scenic/safe ride between NYC and Philly?

Try this:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=New+York+City,+NY&daddr=40.869911,-73.975067+to:Philadelphia,+PA&hl=en&geocode=&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=10&via=1&dirflg=ht&sll=40.916626,-73.661957&sspn=0.498118,1.234589&ie=UTF8&ll=40.499181,-74.479065&spn=0.50125,1.234589&z=10

The worst part is just getting to 202... after that, its a pretty nice ride!

Cheers!

sclegend being from the area and traveling all of these roads I would have to recommend the 3, 202 to 31 route maybe even cut down to 29 through Titisville & Washington Crossing. From there stay on the west side of I-95 and you will enjoy the hell out of the ride.

When do you plan on taking this ride? If you come down hwy 31 you will be going right through bassmechanicsz neck of the woods (Flemington) and Washington Crossing area is like 9 miles from me in Hamilton.
