Title: E-Bay Slip-on
Post by: Grommett2k on July 16, 2009, 08:52:26 AM
Think this is do-able for the GS?

Yeah I don't see why not. I've also seen people put the exhaust right under the engine, which looks a little better in my opinion, but my opinion doesn't really need to matter to anyone else. A lot of newer bikes are coming with exhausts positioned similar to that one, gsxrs maybe, I can't remember.

Gixxers and the 2006+ R6r bikes have 'em...  although they look a LOT better than that eBay one.

You could make it work but it would be a horrible waste of money. Ugly and it would sound like poop.

Haha, yeah I think it looks awful too, but I didn't want to be a downer, but now that everyone else has expressed their contempt, I'll also say I think it looks awful. I think it could be done to look ok, but goofy shaped exhausts sticking in random directions just don't do it for me. I'd say take the exhaust you already have and try to fit it under the engine, and if you really like the tip sticking up, you could put a little tip on your exhaust and stick it out to the side so it's not blowing on the rear tire anyway.

No carrier clamp, though a metal strap can be used. And JCwhitney has crap like this ... far cheaper too. For cruisers its great.
Cool.

I'd have to agree it is always possible but to what end? It would be so loud and sound like a sewing machine? WHY?

Thanks all, I am not thinking of this they way it is set up. I am thinking of this type of can for an undertail mod I am thinking of doing over the winter. I got my hands on an extra stock exhaust system and was thinking of my next project. I also have a Wileyco carbon can I may use and make into a shorty for under the tail.

You should get 3 or 4 of them and stack them under there like the MV Agusta F4 tail, although you'd have to also put a new tail on your bike too, because that would look horrible under the GS's skinny tail.
