Title: FS: D&D slipon
Post by: annguyen1981 on July 17, 2009, 09:19:30 AM
I bought this slipon a year or two ago, but decided to go with a Micron instead... I paid $90 shipped.  This is designed for an R6, but there have been many members using R6 cans on their GS's

Looking for $90 shipped.

Well, if he never used it why not? Not like they have an expiration date!

TY Mary.  Exhaust is still in the SAME condition I bought it.  It's not like I bought it brand new and used it for thousands of miles and STILL want the purchase price.

Yeah, I don't need it, but it's still a good deal. Especially considering the shipping is included, so he's still gonna lose $10-15 anyway.

That's exactly what I replied with a PM this morning.  Shipping is a loss anyway, but it's still a good deal for whoever buys it, and I still get most of my money back.

Will this just slip on without modification? I assume it's called slip on for a reason, and will a rejet be needed if so what will be needed. I'm interested but need to know this first.

You NEED to do the following:

1) cut off stock can at desired mounting locatoin

2) find/make/buy a strap to wrap around or hold it to the passenger peg somehow.

You MIGHT need to do the following:

1) rejet. I'm not sure.  Budda can probably tell you.  He'd probably say yes, but like I said, I'm not sure

I'll go measure the diameter of the slipon right now...  brb

The diameter of the slipon's "intake" is 2". I remember someone here saying the diameter of the pipe on the GS is 1.79".  There's a pipe clamp you can tighten down to fasten the slipon to the bike.

Will the passenger peg be useless with this?

Nope.  If you look at your bike (assuming it's stock), you'll see that the stock exhaust has a tab that's bolted into the passenger peg.  You'll need to figure out how to attach the slipon to that.

I really want to take CLEARER pictures of this slipon before selling tho....  You can't see all the imperfections and I don't wanna deal with an unhappy camper.  I'll try and remember tomorrow.
