I Just installed some led rear signals to go with the led fronts i have, connected everything right. all 4 work but they work all the time. i can turn them on and off but no matter wich side i select on the bar pod all 4 go... Just wondrin if anyone else has run into this hiccup. its on an 06 gs 500, Thanks in advance
Yup, had this problem. If you keep testing it you will eventually burn out the flasher (happened to me twice.) You need resistors and some other thing (I forgot what it's called) so that they won't act stupid.
(It's very common on our bike with LEDS)
Yup, need a new flasher (sorry said resistor earlier) from autozone $5
A load balancer like this http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/catID/16/scID/114/IMID/718
And if you want your turn signal indicator to work a diode like this: http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/catID/16/scID/114/IMID/719
hope this helps!

LEDS are a pain in the ass, so I just go with flushmounts with bulbs in them. All my signals have resistors from radioshack on them, and it managed to do the trick, but yeah if you want everything to work you have to buy all the stuff above, and then possible another flasher :cookoo:
Awesome, im glad im not the only one who had this happen. Thanks for the quick replies all. i just ordered the stuff from mary's list and will see if that fixes it. Thanks again
Definately did it for me. Took me a month to figure out all of the parts I needed. I thought at one point I was going to have an anurysm  There is also a wiring diagram on here somewhere that is really good too just search for it! I really shoulda asked the folks on here when losing my mind but yeah I'm stubborn!
If you have any questions and such keep postin pics will help alot too!

when i did my led blinkers up front (PO did an integrated led tailight in the back and replaced the flasher) i only needed 2 of the diodes mary pointed out to get everything working and didn't need the load balancer and couldn't find anywhere where the PO might have installed one.
Yeah, YMMV but that is what I had to have to make it all work. Did you check under the seat? That is where I installed mine. Did you say you needed 2 diodes? Because I only needed one LOL!
See headaches. But, they work and that's all I care now! :whisper: my indicator bulb blew so diode is useless at the moment. I just can't bring myself to tear down the whole gauge cluster again.
I was thinking about doing LEDs in the cluster lights and such. Since I have the diode in there are the LEDs the same for what I need. Or do I need to remove the diode?

Mary (or anyone else)
Do you know which flasher you need from Autozone? Is it specific to the bike or just a generic (LED compatible one?) Also, does anyone know what value resistor?
I have built my own LED indicator panel and I added the front LED turns and soon adding the integrated tail (LED)
Didn't I see a write up somewhere here also?
EDIT: Found the wiring diagram. It also shows the diode needed.

thanks,

i did look under the seat and didn't see anything that looked like it was a load balancer but who knows where the PO might have put it if he did install it. He did put an icepick in the end of the fuel tank overflow and then jammed it back behind the fairing with the ice pick in it. That was a fun find. Thinking about it i might have only used one diode or maybe 2 but i definitely ordered 2. Either way as long as it works don't mess with it.
It was a generic one from Auto Zone and the last one was from Advanced Discount Auto Parts. This one I have no does the clicking but honestly I can't hear it at a light LOL! If you need me to I can go out and take a pic. It is a bit bigger than the stock one because I had to zip tie it to the bike!
Mary
If you can that would be great. If not, no biggie. Thanks.

If you can't find it at the autoparts store I found my flasher on ebay for $10.00 shipped.
I tried to take the pics no go tonight! and the other one I have is smashed right where the info is! Will do tomorrow!

This was the best pic I could get it is zip tied to my bike and I didn't have an extra one so I could take it off and do good photos sorry!
