has anyone ever stripped a gs wheel and polished it as opposed to a re-spray of some color? i'm talking spokes and all, not just the outside rims. being an alloy. and having seen wheels with the outside rims polished. just wondered. my 97 with the silver engine cases, and silver frame might look better with a straight polished out wheel rather than the dark blue/gray as equipped.

wait till you are doing it.. you will have lots of thought how this was such a bad idea.. but you already started..so you must suffer through.. but in the end it looks good.. worth your time.. .maybe not.. but it does look good.

OMG who's bike is this and how did you polish the rims like that? That is the sharpest Blue and White GS I have ever seen. And if you read this Mary...Yeah I said Blue and White looks sharp!
this is my bike. it came with the rims already stripped and polished. hard to tell from more than 6 feet away that it had been in a really bad front end collision and was totaled lol. bought it for $1600 and fixed it up with about $150 in parts.

Man I have to say I really like that look! Are they hard to keep clean with all the break dust and chain residue?
not really, i just keep them dirty as hell most of the time. for instance, in this picture, they're very dirty lol
Man you got me contemplating doing this to my F after I paint the rims yellow like the rest of the bike. I wish I was better at Gimp I would see how this would look on my bike!
