Yea we are considering it. Has any one owned one. How is it.
Cool.
Buddha.
i know a girl who had one for awhile. (until she got rear-ended) she never complained. said she loved it. of course, she wasn't the type of girl who could give you all the juicy details. (ride comfort etc.) wish i could help more. but, it has one positve going for it for sure, it's a honda. they make damn dependable vehicles IMO. :thumb:
ohhhhh, the buddha has had a very good year it seems !
they are expensive (by my standards) !
they are very, very nice. my sister has one, 2-3 yeras old, v6, vtec (or whatever they call it now). it seats a family of 4 or possibly 5 just fine, even tall people. fuel economy is ok, for something this size. reliability, well, it's a honda. change the boodhas oil and it will last forever.
complaints: the paint is too shiny. no really, this thing is really nice.
engine: will get you tickets if you stand on it, even for only a couple seconds. this thing will GET.
good luck you up-and-coming cager, ;) it's a really nice wagon.
The buddha has stayed employed ... a miracle by any standards cos the buddha never stops flapping his trap @ work ...
Its the wife's "you dont love me I want big $$$ crap" moment.
Cool.
Buddha.
i've seen a few at the local dealership, couple years old. still in pretty good shape. and loads less $ than a brand new one. unless of course she just has to have a new one. most hondas i've seen hold value well and are build very well also.
Bah, gett'er a Porsche and you'll stop her b!tchin for months. Y'kin get early Cayennes with under 100k on the clock for about 20 grand right now and I bet you'll be able to find 'em nearer to 15 in Q1 2010. Even the 'baby' little engine Cayenne will leave a friggin Honder in the dust and you can do all the maint. yourself. Not that complex, they have 7 bajillion codes so the trouble codes are always VERY specific.
Unless you're looking at something new to pull a cash 4 clunker deal on. Then, yeah, the Honda is pretty nice. Definitely be at the top of my list were I going to buy a car using the c4c program. Do it fast if that's your idea, because once the washington morons are caught up processing, they're going to find that they've blown through most of that 2 billion they just got. (I've seen estimates of 400,000 cars have been sold under the program so far and expected to double by the end of the weekend. 400k x 4500= 1.8 billion. 3.6 would put em almost over budget again)
currently govt does well blowing cash. lol hte pilot, not bad tbh. however i do NOT liek hte placement of the shifter. fuelecon is not bad, ( could be better tbh but still for a minivan, not bad 17/23/19 ( i get those numbers from my CVPI )

are you really comparing a porsche (because of the possibility of a drag race some day) to a honder ?
i must have missed the super-duper maintenance deals on porsche products.. ;)
indeed. neither one is cheap to fix either. lol. btw buddha hows that son pf yours doing?, any new pics?
Yeah, I am comparing them, because there is no comparison. The V6 Cayenne gets similar mileage and service is all very simple and straight forward.
Hmmmmm, tough decision. Do I want a Honda or a Porsche.
Also look at 01+ Land Rovers, they're all Ford built, very nice interior, similar mileage in real world use. Again, Disco's, Lr2's (maybe a little smaller than what you want, and even Range Rovers are popping up all over at dirt cheap prices. That's a good idea, then you can be a good Indianredneck and do some offroadin'
i tried to drag race my toyota vs a cayenne one day.....just for grins....as far as i could tell, it was a "base" model.....smoked doesn't even begin to describe how badly i got beat... :cookoo:

come on now. we all know the v6 sounds like a box of hammers compared to the 'other' engine. not to mention pinning you to the seat from every single redlight/stopsign with fun fun fun torque.
acting like the v6 is even an option... that's funny :) it wouldn't be for me if i ever had the extra dough to blow on a porsche. :D
Sorry to be late to this conversation. I know about the Honda Pilot. My dad owns one, my uncle owns one, and I get to do the maintenance on the one my daughter owns.
They ride very well compared to other vehicles in its class. They feel stable in turns and the braking feels very solid. The engine produces petty good power. Reaching highway speeds is easy. Maybe too easy. Passing other vehicles on the highway is no problem. Even though the engine feels stonr, it is not geared to tow anything heavy. I think it is rated to 3K lbs max towing. Thats good enough for most people. The third row is convenient and slpits 60/40, but I wouldn't want to ride there for long. With the seats folded down, there is tons of space. My dad got the tow package and uses a cargo platform in the hitch to expand the cargo capacity when utilizing the third row for passengers.
The down side is price. You pay for the Honda name and repair parts.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

OK so honda is OK, but Land rover and porsche ... sorry honda guys, just putting a porsche in the sentence in the list of cars she can get will get me some bootay ... so it wins.
Lemme ask if my mechanic can work on a porsche.
Cool.
Buddha.
Buddha, you are departing from your minimalist reputation. All you need is an old pickup truck to transport bikes with and drive on cold rainy days. The rest of the time you belong on two wheels. Let the Mrs drive her own car. You get along better that way. Think of all the $ you can put into bikes or something else if you listen to me, and you will be true to your real nature. If you buy an SUV, you will stop riding motorcycles and you will start using drive-thrus for all your meals. You will turn into something you hate, as I've read here on several occasions.
Hope that wasn't too much cold water for you!
i think he's buying it for the mrs......
I got 8 bikes that dont run, and a pickup that barely does ... so we're good there ... I used to have this little mouse of a nissan sentra that I hocked off last month to pay for the raked triples for the chopper ... so we're double good.
Pilot was for the wife, but we're back off it now. I was pushing for a 99-02-03 expedetion/Navigator. She's a ford chick, and the Navigator looks like her mom. O0 ...
So we will not need the pilot I told her ... she wants to look @ a highlander now .... but just looking, I think 99-03 nav/edpedetion is it if we even decide we need one.
Cool.
Buddha.
drop the jap junk. go buy gm. just don't drive it. ever. it will be worth a mint in 20 years when gm is dead.
what ? i ain't kiddin ! ;)
