Took out my speedo to replace the bulb. Lost the little screw in the process. Can anyone tell me the size of it? Bikebandit has it listed as 3x6, but that doesn't really make much sense to me?
I did a search and turned up someone who was going to answer, but they never did.
Appreciate it!
I have a spare one! Ever get around the O-town area? Also, was $2 at the dealership. As far as size :dunno_white:

Yes I did actually. My uncle is an avid Harley rider and he lives in Apopka so I went down a couple times and we cruised around Central Fla. I now live in Atlanta though. I'll need to call my local dealership tomorrow, but if they don't have it in stock, would mind parting with yours for a couple of bucks?
3x6 would be a METRIC thread M3 x 6mm long, the pitch of the M3 screw I'm not sure though, the local hardware HD/Lowes will have stock
The 6mm length is about right but the thread itself is way smaller than M3 in dia`...at least it is in my `96. An M3x6 screw would be twice the length of its diameter.......and the screw in question most definately is not!
Unless its some oddball "instrument" thread It can only be one of these:
M2x0.4, or M2.2x0.45 .......Difficult to say without a Mic` or Vernier but if I had to bet on it my money would be on the first one owing to the fact its generally a prefered size, but in saying that the Japs have some very strange ideas and standards when it comes to fastenings.
EDIT...I have just checked out BikeBandit and it describes the screw for my year as 2x6, NOT 3x6.....so I am putting even more money on it being M2x0.4 x 6mm length and the fact someone has made a mistake or a typo somewhere.
Sure thing!
