Title: LED TAIL LIGHT
Post by: pimpincavy19 on August 08, 2009, 10:45:34 PM
Does anyone have one. There is one on ebay 2 actually but they have the blinkers built right into the light. It is a break light and blinkers all LED, I am just wondering if anyone else has something likes this. Where you got it from, and how easy it was to install.......

Thanks in Advance

I think they call it an 'integrated tail light' where everything's all in one.  There are people here that have them, I'd just give them a minute or two to get to the computer to respond, haha.  Personally, I think it really reduces your visibility on the road, and it might not be a good idea.  But some people will really defend it for its clean looks.

I had 1.....gave it away. After 3 months the left blinker stopped working and so did the right running light.

My bike had LED bulbs in the tail light.  They were a cluster of about 15 LEDs that just popped in like a normal bulb.  I thought they might be brighter than a regular incandescent bulb but they weren't.  I just replaced them with regular bulbs.

I know that is not what you were asking about but some may be tempted to go this route.  I say avoid them.

My LED Tailight has been great although its not one of the cheap intergrated ones its just the tailight its bright, its noticeable it also cost a packet from Germany. Postage cost as much as the tailight itself but Im happy with it  :thumb:

I have one for an r6 on mine, with the integrated signals.  on mine, when you apply the brakes, you cant see the rear signal.  they arent dot approved most of the time either.  if cops are strict in your area, it definatly wouldnt be worth the hassle.

I have one on mine which the PO had installed and i haven't been next to any other GS' where i could compare how bright it is.  The blinkers i have been told are hard to see during the day on it so i am in the process of figuring out which blinkers i want to mount on the rear of my bike in addition to the integrated taillight ones.  I am also planning on putting additional brake lights on the rear.  You can never have to many lights IMO.  And i would just put on the stock blinkers but i don't like the look of how bulky they are.

I got it off ebay but this is the one I got : http://store.58cycle.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Tail%20Light%20GS500E%2089%20INT%20Smk

I used small resistors I got from radio shack...Theyre not needed if u have the stock front turn signals, but i advise geting them cuz it might not work...

I'm using an integrated light off a ninja 636

I like it lots, but it isnt as defined as standalone blinkers when trying to signal a lane change

The LED integrated lights are ok for looks, but for visibility, they just suck. You want as much light as possible, and maybe a flamethrower just for kicks. No really. Light the hell outta the rear end. Make it smolder.

If you want a really bright tail light, look at the SV650 led light. it's bright as heck. Then add some big LED signals, and don't shorten the stalks too much. At       night       you       disappear     to        cagers.

Keep it in mind. :)

Now then... Ya, I've seen ONE integrated flashing taillight / signal combo on a r6 i believe that STROBED and was bright enough to keep you alive. I'll try and find the link. :)

I'm running a clear alternatives clear with integrated turns. Looks great and I have been told it is uber bright. the turn signals are not greatly seen in daylight so I just added a small set of turn signals that attach to the license plate screws.... clean look and I am seen

thats what i plan on doing as well. i want to get the led brake light with integrated signals and then add led flush-mount signals in place of the stock ones as well. Im also replacing the front turn signals with led flush mounts and installing gsxr mirrors with the integrated turn signals. a little visability never hurt anyone :)
