A buddy and I are planning another long road trip over Labor day weekend. I live in Albuquerque, NM and he lives in Denver, CO. Last time we rode, he came down to ABQ and then we went to Vegas. This time i'm going to ride up there but we haven't figured out where to ride to yet.
We're looking for a ride that's probably 1,000-1,200 miles round trip (from Denver). It's something that we need to be able to do in 3 days.
If anyone has suggestions, please post them up!
New Belgium Brewing Co.
Ft. Collins, CO
sweet. anyone else with some recommendations? Fort collins is only 60 miles or so north of Denver. Maybe we could stop there along the way to somewhere else
i got an uncle that lives in albequerque, n.m. :icon_mrgreen:
Steamworks Brewery
Durango, CO
Avery Brewing Co.
Boulder, CO
Breckenridge Brewing Co.
Denver, CO
Bristol Brewing Co.
Colorado Springs, CO
Great Divide Brewing Co.
Denver, CO
Left Hand Brewing Co.
Longmont, CO
Colorado - hell, anywhere. Drive through Raton Pass in way southern Colorado and continue up I-25. Go through the Springs, look at Manitou, Old Colorado City, Garden of the Gods, and enjoy one of the best rides of your life. Go up I-24 through Woodland Park and see some of the most beautiful passes in America. Basically I am biased as I live there, but If you want some great touristy stuff, we have tons!
Im planning a trip to Wyoming/colorado on that same weekend from iowa, let me know what your plans are and maybe we can meet up? 07 gs500

That's cool. We should hopefully have something planned soon
Sorry to threadjack. But Turkey how did you do your in-dash clock? Wanting to do that to Flick but haven't found the 'right' clock to do it with!

Haven't done it yet. It's on my list of future upgrades.
I was going to use this as a basis for the upgrade:
http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Upgrades.Clock
with one of these clocks:
Formotion clocks (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=formotion+clock&x=0&y=0)
Yellowstone & Grand Teton, if you're looking for scenery/wildlife. Not a good place to ride fast, and don't tick off the wildlife when they take over the road. But darned nice country, and boiling water shooting out of the ground.
Zion, Bryce, Arches out Utah way if you're looking for the dry rocky sort of thing, though Zion is a bit greener than the other two.
Of course, likely to be busy on Labor Day weekend, I'd guess.
See, I tried the double sided tape and it kept coming off! I even superglued it but yup came off! I had one cool one from Wal-Mart that velcored on but some nice persone decided to appropriate when my bike got knocked over! Haven't been able to find one like it since!
HOpe your trip goes well take lots of pics!
