Question, does it hurt to smooth(with a hand grinder) and paint the frame if it has been scuffed up? Here is a pic, I know its a little dark but it was almost night time when I took the pic. Any suggestions on the type of paint, or should I just tear the whole thing apart and have it powdercoated  (I wish)

BTW-I will have better (and more)pics on my site this weekend.

Does anyone have ideas about this or have had to take care of scratches to the frame and repaint??? I am thinking about a hand grinder or sander to polish out the scratches a little, but not sure if it will work.

I wouldn't take a grinder to a frame, something like a palm sander, maybe. but nothing heavy duty.
Just mask off the engine and other colored things fill in the scratches and paint over it with some matched spray paint, I like the plasti-cote "import color" paint (in the little cans) you can get from auto zone.

Okay thanks I will keep that in mind, I have to get the rust off of it first before I work on smoothing it out. I will take a palm sander then to it to rough it, then feather it out to apply the bondo. Thanks for the help
Put a wire wheel on your grinder and go at it. Then go for the sander if you want to remove all the paint.
