Title: i have to admit it, Buddha IS the man.....
Post by: grayghost on August 16, 2009, 01:32:02 PM
got my carbs back from Buddha. rejet/needles/new slides and whatever mojo dust he laces them with. installed, and maybe a quarter of a turn needed on mixture- and they're right on. no idle hovering, smooth acceleration from low to high rpm- no hesitation or hiccups, and sits there at around 1,100 to 1,200rpm's idling happy as a clam.
don't know what more you could ask for.
yeah Buddha, you are the man.

Glad yours worked grayghost ... but yours was a bit obvious ...
I am proud of one I did ~1 year ago. Man I was stumped until I pulled the air screw and found its left was 2 turns further in than right.
I then had almost the same situation with lopee's that I was able to sort out on the site.

There has been a few that were a "doozy" in the past. Yours easy, didn't even need magic powder.

There is 2 or so nightmares sitting in my garage, one came through black as tar, and another came through in peices ... deracked and all bolts removed ... and I broke the one screw that wasn't - the air screw, after I assembled it. Grrrrrrr ...

Cool.
Buddha.

Almost nothing other than metal can stand up to immersion in gasoline and the fluctuating temps in your carb.
I have POR 15'ed it on 1 ocassion, but in the absence of the serious surface prep its a big question if it will stand to gas and additives. I however have spare bowls ... most everything can be swapped out except the body itself.
Cool.
