My 10LA2 battery is kind of low on charge and I noticed that it's almost dry. Do I need to add water before recharging it, or is this one of those "Do not add water" type batteries?
Also, What hose connects to the black plastic nipple in between the Carbs. The nipple that this hose is connected to didn't have anything connected to it. Where does the hose lead to?

Does it have marks on the front for "Upper Level" and "Lower Level". Does it have removable plugs on top for each cell. Then it needs water. If you are completely dry, you probably cooked your battery and it will never really hold a charge again.
Yes it does. It wasn't completely dry. Just super low. Some cells had more than others.
I've added water. Thanks mi_dude.
Do you know the answer to my 2nd question, by any chance?
Added picture to the first post.
The upper T between the carbs is an overflow/vent tube. It does not connect to anything just routes past the airbox (if I remember correctly).

I think your asking about the vent hose. If so it is connected to the atmosphere ;).

Thanks guys. It's hard to tell in diagram pics. Mine is a California model so I thought it might need to be connected to something.
On the battery, if you dilute the electrolyte in the battery more than 50% it will not turn water into electrolyte. So always add small amounts of distilled water over time as you charge it :thumb:
