Title: Brake pads?
Post by: OskyATL on August 20, 2009, 12:55:38 PM
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310158637600&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123

I ordered these just wondering if anyone knew anything about them since they're a bit on the cheap side. Are they a good buy?

don't know what those are but if you need high quality, and great performance brake pads you should go with EBC HH brake pads.

get those HH pads and some stainless steel brake line, and it's like having another bike  :thumb:

There's no brand on that listing, so who knows? I use the Sixity brake pads, which are available cheap on ebay, and they have performed fine. I do prefer the EBC HH pads (FA231HH) on the front, and standard (FA63) on the rear. I'm no expert, but my bike stops every time, so I can't be messing up too bad!

Those are really cheap and I don't know anything about them but I was using EBC replacement pads both organic (Kevlar type) and EBC-HH replacement pads and found myself needing front pads unexpectedly once due to premature wearout of pads caused by a sticking pin slider.  I found some EMGO brand pads at the local place I get tires from and decided to use them until I could order some EBC pads.  Turned out to be the best I've used and I don't want any other kind now.  Less expensive than EBC, thought grip fell between EBC organic and EBC-HH pads, and the fronts are only a little more than half worn now with 25k miles on them.  Better life than EBC or OEM pads.  Never know what your getting until you try it at your own risk of course.  I'm a lot easier on brake pads than I once was, guess I'm getting old.  :icon_lol:

Thanks warase, I'd rather die with my boots on than sitting in a rocking chair on the old folks home porch.  Both my parents ended up in nursing homes and that's not for me.  Dad lasted 89 years and Mom just passed two years ago at age 96 so maybe I've got a few years to ride yet.   :thumb:
