Just had to share my irritation at this....
Bought my bike a little over a year ago. Had dry-rotted rubber on it, so when I bought it I replaced the tires with new Pirellis. Last year, some yobo slashed my rear tire. GRRR...maybe had a hundred miles on the rear, still had the knobbies on it.
So three weeks ago, my 4wd Explorer gets a screw in the tire. $250 bucks gone for a new tire - couldn't plug it, because its a service truck and its not legal to plug them here. Then, two days later, my Kia gets a screw in its tire. That's ok though, got tire damage coverage, so its replaced free, but still a pain in the bohunkus.
So yesterday, I get a chance to ride for the first time in about three weeks. I'm coming out of work and..... you guessed it...screw in the rear tire! So now I'm buying my third Pirelli rear in a year. I have yet to even start to wear the tread on a single rear.
:2guns: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns: >:(
wow talk about getting "screwed". hehehe sorry for the pun, but very appropriate here.
sucks man, g'luck.
cheers,

That sucks. I got a nail in my rear tire the very first week I had my ninja 250 forever ago. That was before I knew how to do anything myself as well, so I just had to take it back over to the dealership and wait it out.
I also average a flat once every 1-2 weeks bicycling home from work because people who drink CLEARLY are not responsible enough to be served their beverages in glass bottles. There's glass all over the sides of the roads. Replacing tubes is better than tires, but it still adds up, and is just as much of a hassle to pull it all apart and fix it.
Hope your luck gets better.
Maybe you should stop driving by the ACME Screw Warehouse. I mean that's pretty redicouluos. Have they all been in the same area/same route? Like is there just somewhere that for some reason gets stuff dumped there alot?
holy crap.. that is some karma issues. i suggest you join habitat for humanity for a while.
sucks :(
everyone that rides has had that 'new tire gets screwed' thing happen.
cars ? i'd plug it myself and drive until it obliterates. hell my truck won't pass 80mph anyway ;)
All screws? Sure someone isn't putting screws under your tires?
Michael
well now you can be really hard on the new rear so that it wears out at the same time as the front ! :)
sounds like it is time to invest in a tire changing machine, and a nice patching set.
If these are all coming out of your work maybe you should let them know. Who knows your in Florida Morgan & Morgan might have something to say to them " If you don't provide a safe place for drivers and riders to exit and enter your property that if it isn't corrected any and all damage they will be responsible for"
Sounds like you have my type of luck LOL!
Mary
patch the old ones and use them for burn out contests :)
Ha I got screwed too, last tire I got three screws on my rear tire in the span of a month. I kept plugging and going. 3 plugs on a motorcycle tire! :icon_eek: I thought the first one was a fluke and plugged, after the second I decided to plug and buy a new tire. While the tire was being delivered bang-o another screw.
