Title: Bultaco Alpina 350 ? pic
Post by: Susuki_Jah on August 21, 2009, 04:21:59 PM
I just traded my old go cart frame and a suzuki 190 single cylinder engine for a 1974 Bultaco Alpina 350. Basically a swap of projects from a friend at work. the bike is in good condition but I need to tear her down and get it running again.

anyone know anything about these bikes other than the fact they are spanish?

worth anything?

btw the fiberglass tank makes things really easy for restoration!

That bike has high-collector value amongst vintage ppl.  :thumb:
Is the shifter on the right ? Kicker on the Left ?
A Google search should turn up parts 'o plenty for it. "Buds Bultaco", try.....

Back in the day, it was a seriously top-shelf bike. Bultaco has a very cool history.
That motor had a couple different iterations from a trail bike(yours), to a trials bike
to a seriously drool material MX bike (Pursang ) and I think the Astro flat tracker
had it too.  IT has an Amal carb right ?  To make yerself appear smart n' stuff to
vintage nerds, call the choke, a 'tickler'  :icon_mrgreen:

Nice find though, very nice !!

Spain had some grreat bikes back then.....Bultaco, Ossa and Montessa

I am giving up a 1100 maxim that needs carb work for a seized XS 650 and 450 bones.
Problem is, I got to do the carb work still.
Other problem is ... well ... not problem ... but cool thing ... I found a non stuck XS650 motor that I am swapping in ...

The savage chopper is running and socred over a 100 today.
I did a 100 on wednesday on the other savage.
So all in all its looking better than I did when I was working.
Cool.
Buddha.

I had to correct my original post. tracing the serial number I found out the bike is a 1974 . good thing is it should be a easy restore and here is a site to help http://www.bultaco.com/ and just wanted to post a picture at the top. I also found buds bultaco so thanks! I am getting more excited as I read more about this bike.

Post more pics as resto continues, OK ?

I used to ride with a guy in the 70's that had a 250 Pursang, and it was an incredible
bike.  I had an Elsinore CR250 and getting back on my bike after the Bul was ruff

When you kick it, stand on the left and use your right foot  :thumb:

You already knew that though, prolly  :icon_eek:

haha yea I did find it interesting that the shifting and kick were on the opposite side. I will definitely have to think while riding this one!

I was really happy to find this considering I gave my kawasaki G5 100 to my little brother because he was begging for the project.
