So it's a bit of a long story. My wife passed her MSF about 2 years ago and I bought her this GS500. I love the bike. Then 18 months ago I wrecked my BMW R1200GS. Spent 3 days in a coma and was given less than 10% chance pull through. So my wife gave up completely on riding. The bike sat for 15 months in my shed. My niece just passed her MSF. So I gave her the bike. Man was it in rough shape. Once the dealer they took it to got the mice out of it and got it started she rode it around a bit. But it kept stalling on her and leaving her stranded. So this past weekend she bought a Ducati Monster and the GS is back. It leaks oil and gas like a mofo. I love the bike and would like to keep it. But I just don't have the time, the tools or the talent to get it running reliably.
It does have new tires, front brakes and a battery. It also has a Corbin seat
Asking price? $0, nothing, nada, ziltch.
First come, first served. Just come get it.
I'll post some pics later.
I'm located in Poolesville Md.

Thanks guys. I'm fine now. The wreck happened about 18 months ago on a Friday commute home. Saturday afternoon they were telling my wife to "make arrangements" or to expect years worth of rehab. You know, the kind where they reteach you to swallow and brush your teeth. Yeah, that kind. Monday morning I woke up, asked for ice cream, and called my wife asking her what the hell am I doing in here and where the hell is my bike. Tuesday I was released from the hospital with a clean bill of health. Been back to commuting year around on the bike for about a year. All is good.
congratulations, too many people arent that lucky. and stay around, you do ride a gs afterall, of course yours has shaft drive and efi :thumb:
All the damn things my job makes me miss....
hehheh....
Congrats on the recovery... Good to beat the odds.
that's pretty cool of you to -give- the bike to a gstwinner. i nominate you cool gstwinner of the year.
can i getta woot woot ? (2nd)
I didn't get the bike, so I'm only giving one woot.
Thanks guys. If I were in it for the money I wouldn't have been a gubmint worker. :D. Seriously though I wouldn't feel right charging for something that's in such rough shape. And I figure: what goes around comes around. You know the karma thing.
The Buddha is on his way. Should be here around noonish.
Glad to hear you are ok Rick!!
Buddha- If you part out that bike let me know what you want for the seat. Thanks
-Jessie
And it's gone. The Buddha picked it up a couple hours ago.
So your niece rides a Ducati Monster.... is it inappropriate to ask if she's single?? ;) :D

And you wanted stuff off his bike ... shame on you.
:D ... made it 10:20 pm or so Rick, nice meeting you, Conan Lloyd's old posts etc I have to look back and see what ever we did ...
The tank coating still holding up ... I couldn't wait till I got here to see that ... opened it up as soon as I got on the ferry.
Oil leak ... schmoil leak ... this bugger better run tommorow, else its gonna get tortured till it does. Just kidding, but I'll go into the valves and carbs and then it better run ... I am hoping to get a good assesment of what it needs before launching into the motor big ...
This was the first time meeting someone who had been in a coma for me. Very cool, should'da sat and talked a while, but 400+ miles of fog and traffic beckoned.
Cool.
Buddha.
Nice meeting you to. Hope the trip home was a good one. Have fun with the bike.

Of course, the good ones are always taken...
I think I hate your niece! I'm D-Y-I-N-G for that bike!!!!
He tries to do something good and one guy is hitting on his neice and one girl (steph is a girl I presume) is hating his neice ... :cookoo: ... Sheesh.
OK OK fine atleast its not the other way round ...
Cool.
Buddha.
Congrats to your niece, that is a sick bike.

Yes, it's safe to say i'm a girl....at least last time I checked I was! Which might have been this morning...but anyway.... I only hate her because that's the bike i've been wanting F-O-R-E-V-E-R! Maybe I should just be her best friend and maybe she'll give it to me?? Wishful thinking... :icon_rolleyes:
I told this guy I'll work on his Duc monster right ... Its a 97 I think ... and one day he brought it over.
I looked over it and said OK I'll work on it.
Then a few weeks later he drove by only to see me showing it off like it was mine ...
So like if you only got it when it was broken, it will be yours 90% of the time ... :thumb: so yea, act like a mechanic ... say mechanicy things like ... radiator, and synthetic blinker fluid, and smear some grease on your face etc, then befriend her and tell her you're the most badass bike mechanic that ever lived, and if you can throw in a few words in german it will really help ... yea I know ducati is Italian, but all mechanicy chicks are german ... trust me on that one ... yea ... so you get the duc right ... of course no one knows how to fix the bloody thing ... so you would then trailer it places, act like it ran but just died and you're mad ... again works well with the german theme ...
Yea ... that's my plan for you ...
Dont like it ... yea ... oh yea, like you got any better.
Cool.
Buddha.
