Bump.

These are a bit blocky looking just like my previous batch 4-5 years ago. Cut form 1 inch thick plate its seriously strong and its obvious its billet, but it can be polished to look shiny.

Allen head stainless bolts included though you can just re use the stockers if you prefer.

Cool.

Can I get one in anodized red or powdercoated to look anodized red?

Gaaaaaa ... OK fine add $10 max and pay up sucka ... I am going to do a run to the powdercoater in 2-3 days, I'll see what I can do.
Candy red oughta do it, but dunno if he has that in stock.
Cool.

I would need it to match closes to anodized red as possible. Let me know if he can do that.

Dude anodising is done with rit dye. Its available in every shade your wife's blouse is available in. Red ... forget it. In reality the candy colors in powdercoat vary from one spot on the piece to another. It will have a color gradient.

Hey, shiny matches everything, so does billet ...

Cool.

I gotta sell these before I can tie up more of my $$$ into case guards.
Somehow I make 1 item and every one wants some thing else.
Cool.

This part fits all GS'es 89-09 and will save your ignition electronics if you crash.

In a way its a alternative to crash guards, though I am working on those as soon as the current set of projects get to the next stage and my welder is less upset @ me.
I am thinking of getting him a savage to ride a few days ... but it needs to get exhaust pipe swapped and jetted. I traded the muffler off it ...  :cookoo:

I think people are not so quick to buy these because it means the right side doesn't match the left.
I'm pretty sure people ask for case guards, handle bars and fork braces. Not sure anyone asks for these.

Yes, I was thinking the same. I would mean billet on one side and black/carbon sticker for me on the other.

Paint them black and put the stock sticker on them. This way it would maintain the original look (not as obtusive as the case guards) and provide protection for the signal generator, which could cost several hundred $$$ new to replace. $40 is cheap for the insurance they provide. I use them on every GS.

I have not sold these on fleabay ... maybe the chuck guy did ?

Well ... they are both 6061 aluminum so I guess they match ...  O0 ...

Dunno how else ... maybe the SS button head bolts match ...
I'd buy them of their own merit ...  :icon_mrgreen:

Maybe I should sell sheite on fleabay and give people a free membership to this site ... yea ... I should do that ... but well, I hate fleabay ... too many flakes there.

These are pretty angular ... a different profile to stock. Very Billet looking and they are not polished though that is pretty easy with machined 6061.
Anyway I have button head stainless bolts with them. Dont see what brace and case cover matching will do though, cos from the factory they were nothign like each other.
Cool.

Do you think these would accept the metal suzuki "stickers" that go on the stock part?

Self bump after a year???
Btw, you have a CNC or a regular lathe? What model do you use?
Title: Re: Billet case covers for sale. $40 shipped.
Post by: The Buddha on December 30, 2010, 07:06:57 AM
The guy was asking in the other post that's why the bump.

I had these made in a cnc, I dont have either, I play with the 2 that my friends own, and they both are manual. But these are not from that ... nothing other than stuff round my house is made on a manual lathe or the rare prototype. These were made in a nascar contract shop. So were the fork braces. Those clowns didn't treat the braces too good, they left em outside for 1-2 days before calling me for pick up, it had rained and somehow got mud and dead leaves in them. The covers however are pristine, fresh machined, and never seen dirt. Anyway, I am down to the last few on both, I think I got material for the brace (have to check) but these no, I guess when I sell em, its done for a while.

Cool.
