Title: What should I set to rear stock shock preload to?
Post by: asung on October 07, 2003, 10:43:56 PM
I am about 180lbs.  Right now I think it is set to 4 by the factory.  I have no idea what is considered as "appropriate" shock response.  Would some care to educate me?  Thanks a bunch!

Try it on 5 see how you like it. If it seems better, try it on 6. It's a lot like getting fitted for glasses. "Which is better 5 or 6?"

How's your ground clearance in back?  How much shock travel is used up when you sit on the bike?  The preload is for adjusting ride height.  That's all it does.
