Title: Oil leak question
Post by: BaltimoreGS on September 20, 2009, 05:53:46 PM
On the Bedford trip this weekend, Kay's 95 GS developed a small oil leak.  It looks like it is coming from the upper right hand corner of the right side engine cover (dipstick side).  I'm hoping it is just a failed gasket since the bike is 14 years old with 22k miles on it.  Anything else I should be looking for?  And in the diagram below do I need both #2 and #15 gaskets when I pull that cover?  Thanks

from that diagram it looks to me like they mate up against each other? if that's the case, why wouldn't you replace both?  :dunno_white:

On second look, #15 is for the cover on the other side of the engine

I'm gonna say 2 only as well.  15 looks like its for the left crank case (looks like what I replaced mine with).
