Title: Where does this tube go?
Post by: cyrusyn on September 22, 2009, 02:55:18 AM
After valve adjustment, I realized that I got this tube left out. Where does this tube (red arrow) hook up to?

I know that the service manual calls that an air-vent hose. I think it gets run down to the bottom of the bike with the battery vent hose. Unless of course there is an unused mount on the airbox.. anyway, I'm curious to see what others are doing with that guy.

Vent to atmosphere.

See here for a similar carb setup used on the 4-cylinder GS bikes:  (very good resource, by the way)

+56 Let it hang!  The PO on my bike hooked that stupid thing to the gas tank drain, and me not knowing any better kept hooking it right back up there.  Caused me no end of trouble with the floats valve never closing because of the air pressure...
