Congrats!  Welcome to the club/board/group.  Be safe.  If you don't have it already, make sure to go out and get all the proper gear.  And, do my eyes deceive me, or do you need to CHOP THAT FENDER?(Had to be the first).

Anyway, welcome!

Very cool man, you'll have a lot of fun on it

It looks like that Miata has some pretty hefty mods on it too.  :thumb:

Keep the rubber side down!

Let me know how long it takes you to start using your wife's miata because it gets good  mpg  :bs: These little cars are just so addictivie. Congrats for you and your wife

Proper gear is all here.  The fender 's been chopped.  There's just enough room for the license plate and the frame.

Why do you need fender behind the license plate? See what mine looks like (check my site-license plate relocation page).... :)

second yata...
stealing the koni's for the wife car and selling the 91... it's a baby....210,000
small oil leak, WEAK clutch....white....well some white is still on the car

they get ok mileage.....it was my work car for 2 years...28-32 mpg

replaced it with a Del Sol....38-41 mpg....but it now has 275,000
new civic gets 35....
i might drop another engine in the del sol and put it back in service as a work car

air ducts for.....intake or brakes?????

Yeah, I failed to follow this advice  with my first miata  :o.

Man, this is one fender-hating forum! The PO performed the fenderectomy.  It guess it still looks bad from the side. I'll chop it sometime soon.

They're for the intake, they work very well with my  cheap DIY intake. Don't wanna go OT, but PM me if you need pictures.

I like it so far, except for the fork  that bottoms out in every crappy parking lot entrance in Blacksburg. Look at the chin spoiler on my car to get an idea.  I'm low on funds, so I'm thinking of just making some spacers instead of changing the springs. How well does that work?

Not NEARLY as well as the new springs but certainly doesn't hurt.

you're not gonna have this problem with a 97. The 1.6 wasn't clear coated.

I love my little Miata and 97 models are nice because they are the newest of the original design which to my eye is not only more appealing but more "original".  :)
