Title: Mounting Tail Fairings Required Harware
Post by: mstp on September 25, 2009, 07:18:18 PM
I am looking for anyone that has experience mounting tail fairings.  I do not yet have the part, but am trying to make an order for the hardware.

I am looking at :
http://www.mrcycles.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=92691&category=Motorcycles&make=SUZUKI&year=2001&fveh=2102

I see for example the Bolt, Item 7, they say Qty Req. = 2 .  I am wondering does this mean 2 per piece, cause I see at least 4 holes.

Also the three little tabs on the bottom do I need screws for these? or are these some other kind of tab?

Are there comparable mounting bolts , spacers , etc I can buy at the hardware auto store ?

Thanks

I've taken these off a few times and yes, there are 2 bolts on each side, plus a philips head screw that goes into the center piece.  I've found that it's easiest to remove the whole things as a single unit and then break it down to pieces.  The tabs at the bottom connect to the black trim piece over the fender.  As far as comparable parts from auto parts store, I'm not going to be any help on that.
