Cylinder base gasket came loose, so, fine.  Doing one, why not the other.

Easy..

Peasy...  WTF?

Close up of sand.

The studs that hold the cylinder and head on are open to the air.  Sand flung up from the tire hits the front of the head and falls down into the channel around the bolts.

Grasshopper, a grain of sand does not make a beach.
No, Master Po, but it can f%$k up a bearing.

I am cleaning out the sand as best I can now.  I may not split the case if I can work with the patience of a saint and get all the sand out of there without one grain falling into the case.

Just thought I'd share.
