Title: Crashed my bike. Need some input
Post by: Bluehaze on September 27, 2009, 08:51:29 PM
I crashed my bike on track day.  Just one side is all broken and scratched up.  The stator cover is messed up but aside from that the engine looks intact and in good shape..

Question i have is that the bike smells very rich whenver i start it.  Even after riding around for a bit.  Should i be concerned?
The Exhaust is also dented up.

My bike smelled rich before but now its almost pure gas i am smelling.  I dont see any leaks and it has sat in my garage for 3 days and no gas leak there.  Any suggestion on issue will be appreciated.

Any right side damage?  Check that the ignition rotor and signal pickups under the right-side engine cover are not damaged.  Check the float heights in the carbs, and that the float needles are seating properly to stop the flow of fuel.  You are running rich (obvious) and may have too much fuel and overflowing carbs?   What else can you tell us?
