slightly cooler than giant wings on civics but still dumb.

It does look kinda cool on propane injected turbo diesels when they drag race but overall I don't like them.

I had a single "smoke stack" with a tractor flap on my old S-10.  The truck was a beater, needed some body work and a new exhaust.  So I taught my self a little about doing body work and painting and cut the exhaust off at the collector and welded in a cherry bomb and put it up through the bed on the passenger side.  It was loud as hell and got more than a couple looks!

i had purchased 2 8" tractor trailer stacks for my 89 chevy silverado. 2 flowmaster series 40's under bed, with pipes going through and up. looked decent still on road today. my thesis, err theory is. IF done right, loos decent. if done with haste. usually looks like such

I know it's not the same thing, but I like when you see trucks/jeeps with the raised intakes so you can drive them through water. That seems a lot more useful.

i think they are super duper, I think it would be cool to do something like this...http://image.dieselpowermag.com/f/8488642/0803dp_005_z+2004_dodge_ram_3500+smoke_stacks.jpg I am looking to get a truck and i found some pretty nice trucks for good prices, and when i do buy one, stacks will come. :woohoo:

Stacks are cool if done tastefully like yama said. Ive had sevral trucks with stacks. My 77 shortbox stepside chevy has some from jc that are done lil red express style and people go ape over em. I have seen some done in poor tast. When routed up from the inside of the box they do take up a lil room in the bed but not much, and i have seen some really ugly ones that stick up way to far or are way to large. Yama i have been wanting to do this on my 97 chevy 1500 the same way your describing, it already has 40s flowmasters. Do you have pics??

makes sense if there's a snorkel on the other side... and you live in a place that tends to flood.  otherwise, meh.  kinda dumb.

Yama, its all good, how did your gs500 piped crown vic turn out?

I really dig snorkels, but i live in iowa and grew up on farms so creek crossings snorkels work real good, you need to do a bit more than just add a snorkel before you think your good to go roof deep

i love the guys with "stacks" that think the more black smoke their diesels spew out, the more power they're making...don't try to tell them the black smoke means they're running too rich and wasting fuel and power though, they don't want to hear that!

No air brakes?

It isn't a truck.

If you wanna run stacks it better be 3/4 ton or greater and it better be a diesel, other wise you're just a poser and I will laugh at your retarded attempts to look cool.

+1.  There was a rusted out s10 that i used to see around town here that had ghetto stacks installed.  They just drilled through the bed and ran straight pipe up through the bed to above the cab.  I about pissed myself laughing when he started it, 4 banger with stacks :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
