so i stumbled upon a 96 gs500e sitting at my cousins house. apparently it was sitting for about 4 years. i took it off his hands and put in about 500$ worth of new parts and labor to get it up and running again. everything was going good for a while before i downed it and broke the clutch lever. that was about 3 weeks ago. i replaced the clutch lever and tried to start the bike but got no response from it. i had a feeling the battery died, but after i gave it a full charge i still got no response from the bike. this is my first bike and ill be honest, i dont know anythig about bikes haha. i was wondering if anybody would would know what the problem would be, or just give me some ideas of what to check for. thanks!
Does it do anything when you try to start it? Include noises, dimming of lights, anything. What does it smell like? There isn't enough information in your post to help much...

haha sorry if its not enough information, not sure what information would be useful. but the bike's light doesnt dim, it doesnt click when i try to start it, pretty much no response what so ever. while removing the cluch lever a small piece that looked like a connector of some sort did fall out, i put it back when i changed the lever, but im not sure if thats related to my problem or not. gonna check up on that later. but thanks for replying!

Please be more specific about the "connector" that fell out, where it came from, and how you put it back in. Apparently you have no connection to your starter. Getting a manual would be very helpful now and in the future. The starter button is on the brake side, not the clutch side, so I'm a little confused unless you're talking about the wiring harness connector on the clutch side of the bike near the tank.

I'd bet that is it. To troubleshoot, trace the two wires that go to the clutch. Find the connectors, and disconnect them from the clutch, then connect them together (not the ones on the clutch switch, the ones going to the wiring harness). Try to start the bike in neutral.

Prob happened after changing clutch lever and replacing Connector. Start with Connector as suggested. Then tell us of your success.
