1.
There's something I just have to say
Regarding events of today
So I thought I would write
A poem – short and bright -
On National Poetry Day.
2.
We will need to go back in time
About 18 months should be fine
Early April o-eight
No longer to wait.
You can read the events line by line:
3.
On a windy, yet sun-shining day
I hopped on a train – had to pay
A few quid for the fare
And soon I was there -
To buy something seen on e-bay.
4.
So what, you may ask, did I see
That made me go weak at the knee?
Of that there's no doubt,
The truth must come out,
'bout the thing that had filled me with glee.
5.
I'm sure you already have guessed
Your brain has not been hard-pressed.
You're guess might be fluky...
I'd bought a Suzuki,
A lovely 500 GS!!!
6.
Now ever since that day last spring,
There's been many chances to bring
A smile to my face,
While riding with pace,
Speeding up, riding fast, even braking.
7.
So, today, riding home from a meeting,
The odometer showed a great reading,
Done 10,000 miles!!!!!!!
Had a bundle of smiles,
With my GS500. Great feeling!
:D :woohoo: :D :woohoo: :D :woohoo: :D
(On the occasion of completing 10,000 miles on my GS500 since buying it in April 2008. Today is also National Poetry Day - 8th October 2009)
Congrats on the GS and it's 10,000th!

Congrats on the GS and it's 10,000th!
Thanks trumpetguy.
Its 10,000 shared miles (the GS and me), but the bike has a good few more than 10,000 miles on the clock... about 46,000 kms now.
