I have a GS-500 2006. All my lights work exept for the turn signals both rear and front are out. Is there a fuse-box to check for fuse damage or else? Many thanks for your help.
I missed a few bike night outs with buddies cause of this issue..sucks!
Nope, there is only one fuse. So if everything else works, it's not it. Trace wires: http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Main.WiringDiagrams
First test.........Pull the plug off the Relay and short the wires, blue and orange (IIRC) then flick the switch L to R. If the indicator lights come on.........the Relay is fooked :thumb:
Thanks for your help guys. I will try that.

You just gotta take the seat off and pop off the right frame cover (fairing) to get to it.
This is an awsome forum, thank you so much for the help. I cant wait to get home to get to it. I will update upon completion. :)

All,
brief Update, I started troubleshooting the electrical wiring as recommended, trace back some wiring and problem was that the previous owner had done a poor job when he modified and shorten the rear signals. The wiring was cut and he had put electrical tape around that with time it started to come off, rubbing off and created a short circuit on the wiring. This caused the elimination of the Turn Signal relay.
Furtunately, nothing else was damaged, all the lights were ok. With the help of you all, I was able to not only remove the rear fairing (piece of cake) and trouble shoot the turn signal relay. Confirmed, it was shocked!...it was around 8:45 p.m, I told my wife "Honey, I did it, I found the issue" ..LOL...she was like Great, so now what?? I said Oh I will be right back, Im going to (favorite nearest parts store) she said but they close at 9..I told her, oh trust me I will make it.. :D
Found me a "Loud Long Lasting Life round Turn signal relay" and it was on clearance, $5 bucks!..got home, placed tha sucker in...I was riding by 10 p.m ....I was a happy man again.
Man yall, thanks for all your help, as aforementioned, this is a great forum, and I appreciate each and everyone of you that makes time to help other, and rookies like myself..LETS GO RIDE! :thumb:
My relay has been acting goofy too. It only works if I jiggle the wires. Where did you find yours? Is that something you can just find at any auto parts store as long as it's a 12v setup?
It did for me Buddy. I just made sure it was 12V and two legs like exisiting one even though it was not a stock replacement. But id does the wrk great! I went to Advance Autoparts and found one in the relay section, because the cross reference number was not coming up with anything, they told me if it does not work just bring it back, we'll refund your money.
