Hi!
I just stored my bike for the winter for the first time and noticed, that one of the drain screws had a completely ruined head - I had to use pliers to unscrew it. I found an older thread about drain screws, but I didn't feel like bumping it since it was ancient.
So, as I understand, there is no chance of using just any screw instead of the factory one - I have to get an original replacement.
So I'm posting here to check, if someone has an extra one of these drain screws laying around and might be willing to trade it for some $$$ :)
Since I do presume, that ordering a "1997 GS500E carburetor drain screw" from a Suzuki dealer would cost an arm and a leg (if it were even possible :dunno_white:)?
$4.44 from bikebandit. A lot for a screw, but hardly an arm and a leg. Probably the same or less (considering shipping) from a local dealer. Quite a bit less at a junkyard. Quite a bit less if somone has a boogered carb here, but by the time it packed and shipped, not a lot less, in the overall scheme of things.
That screw has a tapered long tip, can maybe machine one to work there ... but yes its different from regular bolts.
However yea Bikerbandit/dealer isn't too bad likem he said.
Cool.
