Yeah, yeah, i know i shouldn`t do things like that to my ol` lady and i must be an @$$hole if i do, but.. Anyway here it goes:
http://tres.lanparty.lv/index.htm
This have been taken using a crappy camera (hp735 (it can`t focus well on close moving objects!)) so.. quality sucks! AVI`s are not compressed, but their size isn`t big as they`re short :) This was done in a closed area (track actually) so don`t call me a crazy %&^% biach :) :thumb:
I`ve done it higher some times (not quite a 12o`clock but still), but hell it get`s scary :o , and i land it down immediately :)
HELL I WANT ONE OF THOSE 100+HP BIKES! :nana:
Here`s one from the link:

HF n RIDE SAFE! :thumb:
tres^
looking good
lean back more!!! at about 11o clock the bike will stay up and you can roll off the gas just alittle and maintane a wheelies and not power out
good luck and be safe
Tricked500
Love the helmet! Very nice!
is that a KBC VR-7 Wolf? how do you like it?
Looks like fun 8)
haha i have the loptoff lugs myself but i am too embarrassed to wear them
Cool! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
GS500ES, cool, to bad that engine isnt more abundant
Can you do a power wheelie? Or is clutching it the only way to raise it? And what's the trick to sustaining it?
</squid wannabe>
Hi, all!
To Yohan: The clutching is the only way to lift it. To sustain it, i just try to find the right height (by feel) and then give in the throttle. Sometimes, very rare, i can get it up and balance it quite well by adjusting the throttle up n down, that way i can get more out of the 1 gear and stay up longer. (got to try the way tricked500 suggested:))
To blueknyt: Sorry, i didn`t get it. What did you mean with that? :? :P
To paui: Hahah, it is great to pass by people and have their widely smiling faces looking towards you! ;) Makes them more friendly, too. :thumb: And best of all: CHICKS DIG GUYS WITH LUGS!! :nana:
To mrslush50: No. It is Streetfighter Integral helmet - quite nice quality and looks for a budget helmet. Got it from www.louis.de
To tricked500: Gotta try that! Still have to practise a lot.. ;)
The goddamn weather sucks here right now. Not a day w/o a rain and it is luck to have it stop at least for a short periods of time. :( Well, it is late autumn and i have to accept it :) Must wait for a spring..
your bike, is a 500 ES, the ES line was shortlived, it was an early attempt at making smaller models like the early model katana, didnt float well, now most the ES line is rare, the 550 700 1000 1150 are the ones i remember, all had the TSCC engines 4 valves per cyl, but i didnt know there was a 500 twin ES even your cam end caps are the same as the GSX/ ES line of engines. can you post some close up pix of your engine, and the model # on the clutch cover? would like to see all the way around the engine
thanks
Hey blueknyt!
Actually it is not 500ccm but 400 (the model in my sig). If you still would like to see the pictures, i can take them and post here or send to you :thumb:
A 400? wow, that is a rare one. dont turn that one loose., heres a tip on the wheelies, you seem adept enough to get the front up early in the revs, just before your rpms top out while the wheelie is high, chop the throttle and click 2nd gear without the clutch and bring the throttle back up as quick as you can, you should be able to hold it up alittle easyer with alittle more gear to pull. work the rear brake gently to keep from going over backwards. you can even overrotate letting off throttle and touching alittle brake and slow the wheelie down. remember to be as safe as you can when doing it. yes pictures here would be cool, if not, send them to Blueknyt@bellsouth.net
thanks
I would love to find a spare head from your type of engine.
This has probably been covered, but I have yet to try a stoppie on my GS, what kinda chances do I have of making one happen? I have come close by accident, but have yet too intentially. At christmas once Im back in Calgary I will ave to see about it...
stopee, or endo's are easy enough, if your gonna do them for play, lower the tire press a few pounds. gives alittle more of a footprint to hold and keep from sliding/locking. but its hard on forkseals, stearing bearings, and brake pads. it will flat out chew up pads. thats how i warped my first rotor. like wheelies, its a matter of getting over the shock of doing someting "wrong" without freaking. scooch up in seat, grab tank with knees, hard, (or nut crush WILL occur) hold your weight with your legs/knees, NOT your arms, use the 2 finger braking style. if you think your going too far too fast, let go of the brake, i find it easyer and more stable doing rolling endos with a full tank. the rear comes up slower and feels more predictable. you dont want to be leaning in anyway when you start doing this, make sure your on clean asphault, no wetness/debris and NO traffic. this is considered 316.192 "reckless driving", 316.1923 "careless and aggressive driving". and failure to maintain control over vehicle in just about any state. fines can be harsh. agian, if doing any kind of stunt work, be as safe as you can be. use your gear all times.
Hey, Blueknyt, i`ll try to take those pics today and host them tomorrow (according to my time zone 8) ). It sure is rare, i`ve heard there are 2 maybe 3 here in Latvia. And there aren`t much resources on the internet about it. Yet I`ll sell it when i will have enough money to buy something more powerfull. Though it seems to be not so soon :)
What`s so special about its head that makes you wanna get it? Because of it`s 8 valves?.
P.s. that clicking into second gear on wheelie sounds scary, i should try it someday
how do you do a wheelie? i have no idea and would like to try it one of these days... any pointers, tips, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated.
yeah the 8 valve head is what im lookin to find. and yes, clicking second is alittle scarey at first, but more wheelspeed seems to help stablize the wheelie. the standup methode from what i have seen seems the easyest to move the ballast (your body) to the diffrent directions to maintain the wheelie. my old katana 600 and my old 82 GS750E with TSCC engine, where a ball in 3rd gear, the 750 was front heavy as hell, but once it was up, it was pretty stable, just keep your foot over that rear brake. you can learn to put left foot on left peg and right foot on rear grab bar for alittle more rear ballest and for slow speeds you can learn to turn it. BUT dont be afraid to drop the bike, IT WILL HAPPEN. engine gaurds are a must, aswell as extra levers :)
i can look at the pics. very cool. i cant see the vids for some reason though
96gs: that`s weird :? i believe these are pure avi`s..
Blueknyt: you can check the pics at http://tres.lanparty.lv/engine.rar . - The engine is all dirty - haven`t had time to clean it lately. The place i store the bike is under construction now and there is goddamn dust all over the place! I covered the bike with 3 sheets. Will try to find some other place to keep it, maybe in my friends garage.
Damn, i don`t want to lay down my bike, my precious.. I`ve had it for three months and the worse that has happened to me was laying it down on soft ground while moving it into storage place. Broke my plastic mirror though. However there is no doubt the first time will come for me too. Hope it won`t be so baaaad :)
It was -2 C degree cold this morning brrrrrr.... :(
