I'm just spouting, but you might need a carb tune.  Might not be getting enough flow at WOT.

Filter might be restricting flow enough to be noticeable at WOT, and by the time you slow down to check the bowls they're full again.

Better with 1/2 tank ? that = vacuum lock in the tank, pop it open and see if it happens. Yea the cap I sent you ... lying in a box for god knows how long. Maybe there is a rat living in it ...  >:(
If its the same with the cap open ...

This is the likely order.

Vent from the carb top T junction.
Float set too low (though on an 04 dunno why you'd even touch them, the new style carbs have very stiff floats, I never have had to touch it. In fact, its the single largest plus of those carbs.
Otherwise lean jetting.
All new never before seen issue.

Oh wait a sec ... maybe your legs are ram airing the K&N. Put a plastic piece to the frame so it will prevent air hitting K&N directly.

Cool.
