I got my hands on some integrated GSXR mirror/turn signals. Saw the wiki but was wondering if I could get some precise measurements on where I need to drill and such. Much rather measure 6 times than screw up once!
Got them for $8 plus shipping :woohoo:
Flick can't wait for some new antennae!

Off topic, but mine's name is Beatrice...
See I'm not the only one to name my bike LOl!

I think this is what you had in mind:

Yeah, thanks Paulcet I read that like twenty times LOL. Guess noone that has done it is still around to give me proper spotting. Trial and error I guess.
Looks like I'll do the detailed write up LOL

I would guess galahs didn't measure. I think he may have put masking tape on the fairing, then placed the new mirror on the fairing at a point that looked good, then marked with a pencil. That's what I would do, anyway. I'd do one side and make sure it looked right, then measure those holes carefully then mark the other side so that I got it symetrical.
Well, the problem I'm running into is that these mirrors are kinda heavy and it seems like with time it is just going to break the fiberglass or worse. I can't see how he's keeping them from doing this.

Wow were did you made such a good deal? Now that you have them, aren't you affraid that you won't see in it as good as you can see with the stock mirror?
Well I got one on with the bracket. Will post up some pics tomorrow. I can see fairly well out of it so far. I just wanted the integrated signals. It will take me awhile longer recovering from surgery and just need the bike constantly going. We don't have a season here for non riding.
When i get it all done there will be a very detailed write-up!

Can't wait to see it :thumb:
Is this what you were looking after?

What I don't understand is, how come this guy didn't have to drill new holes??

It is hard to tell from the pictures but it almost seems like that guy with the yellow gs didn't have to drill new holes for the mirror because he modified the arm of the mirror to make it a straight arm like the gs' have where as the gsx-r mirror looks to have a sharp angle to it where it attaches to the fairing.
From the looks of the pics, It looks like he used the stock stalks/mounts and just welded them up. As a matter of fact; I remember when he originally did this a few years ago.
Ahhh, that looks hawt. But, I'm not allowed to weld :icon_twisted: By far looks to be the best way. That had to be a lot of work!
But, yes the drilled fairing is the route I'm going here are a pic of the plate I made and what one side looks like thus far!

was there any info to the same? Look like those mirrors: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mirrors-Turn-Signal-Suzuki-GSXR-1000-GSXR1000-K5-K7-C_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1e58e1721fQQitemZ130340188703QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories and they are cheap.
just wondering if you keep the stock fairing mounts , could you drill through the new gsxr arm and mount it into the stock mount so that it sits/mounts like standard.
Looks good Mary! :thumb:
Madbones don't think so they are much too wide and fat for that.
GSF I don't think those would fit without modding like we've done.
Thanks Paulcet!
Mary
OK bugger.............i was kinda thinking that the could may be filed down to fit in but i guess you have to allow for the wiring...Id like to have a go at this....ill keep watching your progress Mary.. :thumb:
Anyone tried those adhesive leds on the mirror instead. The wiring would be a problem on the outside of the arm ( look junky) but what if you cut the wiring off and soldered on some of that flat computer ribbon wire stuff then glue it flat to the underside of the arm..bit of black paint..
The way the yellow bike did its mirrors was too tricky and complex for me, thats why I did it the way I did (drill new holes in the fairing)
I can weld and stuff. All I need to know is how he did it? Is there any information somewhere?
he had a thread somewhere on here
