Title: spark but no fire
Post by: zeusrekning on October 20, 2009, 05:12:22 PM
I noticed this weekend that my engine was missing. I felt the header tubes and my right was warm left was cold. Long story short I removed the wire thinking it was bad, and made a terminal to screw onto the thread that went into the original wire so I could use a regular automotive coil. I tried running it again with no luck. I took the spark plug ou and it was wet and would spark to the frame well. Any ideas where I should go from here?

I just went out and swap the coils around. And now my engine is running. Not very smooth but running. Should I just buy new coils?

OK here is a Q, did the problem switch sides ?
And, If the problem is that it misbehaves when cold, that could be a bad crank trigger plate.
Cool.

No the problem was semi resolved when switching sides. It will idle fair right now but starts missing bad at higher RPM. Tach is not connected atm, but I would say around 5k rpm it misses bad. Also, it does idle worse than it was a month or two ago. But it also has been cooler outside.
