Does anyone know where I can get or How i can easily make, that rubber peice that goes on the frame right where the front of the tank hooks onto?
Find some rubber and go at it. Old bicycle tires, 99cent sheet of fun foam from Michaels. If you find a big block of rubber you could just but a slice into it and wedge it on.
old bike tire nice thinkin!
thanks
Yeah, I may be working on that myself. Mine wouldn't stay on the frame, so I put a little glue on it and jammed it on, but now when I try to slide my tank on it won't go on all the way and I can't get it bolted on the back. I'm not sure if I didn't wedge it on far enough when I put it on, or else I probably didn't think it out and just used gorilla glue, which expands ridiculous amounts. Either way I need to rip it off and start again.
I took an old shoe that had thick soles and cut out a chunk from that. Glued it on and it worked great. Also bought some thick foam weather stripping that "squishes" and stuck that on the frame around the tank. Fits snug, and no vibration or noises. All I hear is the engine and the open road. :D :thumb:
I use inner tube and zip ties. Fun foam collapses too easily. BTW its available @walmart.
Cool.

How do you zip tie it on? I'm having a hard time picturing a zip tie actually being able to loop around either of those parts, as one has it's back on the bottom of the tank, and the other is up against the frame.
I'm sure they do have it at walmart, in the aisle right next to where they keep the souls of everyone who shops there.
There is 2 holes in front of it. Through there goes em zip ties. Set the head of the zip tie under and in front by the holes.
