Black Rifle Disease. I started out with a stag lower receiver when they told me they were going to be illegal in CA. I built a 16" carbine that was a pretty nice little rifle. I upgraded, swapped uppers and somehow ended up with 3 complete rifles with probably 5k worth of rifles!!! I have a Sun Devil billet lower on one with a Geissele SSA 2 stage trigger, 18" JP15 upper A2 buttstock and a monster man grip with YHM EZ pull takedown pins. Its got a Burris PEPR mount with a 6-24x44 scope. Next in the roster is a KISS build with a bushmaster HBAR upper, A2 buttstock, Stag lower receiver 3.5Lb single stage trigger worked over by me, YHM EZ pull pins, detachable A2 carry handle, and soon to come National Match sights. Rifle 3 is a 16" carbine with a mid-length gas system, Mega machine shop lower assembly, 3lb mil-spec trigger stoned and tuned by me with JP 3.5lb springs, KNS anti rotation pins, Magpul CTR collapsible stock, with a BCM upper. It has a Troy Industries medieval flash hider, and a RRA carry handle that is being replaced by an EOtech 512.a65 rev. F within the week. I Just put an EOtech YHM riser, QD screws on order. I don't know what is wrong with me but I have to stop buying rifle parts. I now have well over 5k in a year on this crap and my bike is sitting in the garage all lonely and longing to be ridden.

I'm getting ready to drop the hammer on 1000 round case of ammo, doing an urban rifle class in the spring and got to have ammo. You guys in Cali are really going to hate life in what is it february when you have to show your ID and provide your contact info and signature to buy ammo. Of course maybe you ought to start riding your bike now, they could outlaw them next.
I feel your pain on the BRD Lowers are dropping in price Im going to snag a couple more... just because I want em. Still have one lower to build... can't order my barrel yet constructive intent and all that jazz, maybe by april my form 1 will be approved and I can build my 10.5" SBR
So Bombadillo - you planning to take over a small country ? I suggest some place cool like north korea or somewhere where they have lots of oil ... yea arctic circle maybe. Or canada ... yea cream canada.

Naw, you can have the small countries, I'm staying here in the old U.S. of A!!! I am just trying to fight the good fight here in california with all the crap they're passing. The AB962 is likely to be repealed and its already in the court systems but people don't know about it yet. The Governator is an idiot with his head shoved so far up his back side he can't see the light of day. Currently they won't give out the list of information that says who called in opposed and pro AB962 which is against the fairness of information act, Also against the law! Just a crazy time to be a gun toting conservative.
Aaaah yes, you should be so happy with Aaaahnold being a repubuickan and all.

Oh now we're talking. GS with double m249 saw rifles or something of that nature. Anything belt fed really :icon_twisted:
Well, changed her up again. Got a new optic on my JP upper and its in an American Defense Co 1 piece quick detach mount. Leupold Mark AR 4-12x40 with a bullet drop compensator. Great new toys. Also changed my carbine out to a Daniel Defense with the EOtech, Magpul AFG, Stark grip, and most of the other bits and pieces stayed the same. Oh, got a KAC 200-600m rear BUIS on the 16" as well:

You guys really should have elected the porn star.
I just picked up 1k of 45 at a gun show, fun times ahead. I've got to start stockpiling though, need 2500 spare in june.
terry if you're looking for .45 try www.rmammo.com He's got some of the cheapest and fastest available i've found. They're reloads from BVAC which are great for plinking. I'm stocking up for WWIII now because of my stupid state's bills that went through. AB962 will prohibit the sale of ALL handgun ammo from being shipped over the internet. We're trying to repeal it here but its looking like its already going to happen as of jan 1 2011.

Might remove the pistol grip and flash hider to use my pre ban legal high cap 30 rounders which where rebuilt and are now pmags :2guns: I should have sold mine when it was worth like 3k because everyone was stocking up for the "ban" lol
Well, it ain't perfect, but it sure shoots nice. I've got the trigger at about 3.5lbs with the reset as close to non-existant as federal law will allow and everything is fitted nice and snug.

What series is that?? I couldn't read the pics very well. Colt what?
It's a series 80 combat commander
As a side note, BP may be interested, I smoothed out the pin safety by running the mechanism over a 10000 grit stone a few times and getting a serious mirror polish on 'em.
Well, I put 400rds through the CCC today and aside from a little on the spot extractor tuning, it was PERFECT. Trigger was just crisp enough that you know where it breaks and reset was exactly where I like it. :2guns: :2guns: :2guns: :2guns:
Nice setup man! Wish I could see that bad boy in action. Where are you located?
I'm way over here on the right coast, south carolina.
The FLGR gives the 4.25 length some interesting characteristics. There is absolutely no muzzle flip but it makes up for it with straight back kick. It's pretty nice for double taps, but it's a bit different than a stock government length.
I can already tell I'm going to have to pick up at 1911....
The things I dislike about a FLGR is the field strip procedure, the loss of ability to do a press check and loss of the onehanded charge from an empty chamber.
All very true. I guess its just a matter of preferences. I'm really enjoying the complete lack of muzzle flipp. I can empty a mag rapid fire into a dinner plate sized target at 50 feet.
As for the one hand charge from an empty chamber, in my next Wilson order I think I'm going to pick up one of their tactical boot sights. The machine a lip into the non facing surface allowing you to catch the rear sight on a table or..........boot to rack the slide.
That order is going to be pretty soon. I'm rebuilding a GI spec for a friend. Poor thing is a basket case, it almost looks like some moron thought he'd be slick and make it into a full auto. the friggin sear is BENT, I'm still a little puzzled by that. It has to have happened when the sear was outside of the frame, I just can't imagine what would cause that kind of force and not bend the retaining pins first. But the hammer hooks look like someone was trying to do a home trigger job and didn't have the right tools, I'd guess 100grit was used on 'em.
I bought a 9mm TA90 basically it's a CZ75 with a slide safety instead of a frame safety, I'll be darned if that 9mm doesn't have more flip than my 1911, shot a buddies m&p 9mm yesterday as well and same thing. It's odd that the .45acp is a more controlable round in a 1911 platform than the wunder nines, my wife shot the same pistols back to back with her springfield commander as a comparison gun and came to the same conclusion.
When I had my G26 it had noticeably more flip than any 1911 I've fired. I'm not sure what it is about the 9mm round that likes to produce muzzle flip, but the only gun I've fired that didn't have that characteristic is an H&K P7 and that little thing makes up for it in kick.
I took the CCC out Saturday and ran several varieties of ammo through it without a failure, including some low power SWC's. At the 30ft line I could empty mags all day as fast as I could pull the trigger into a 5" circle.
Hmmmm....... might be trading the CCC for a PSP...............Dunno, I'm still thinking it over..............
psp? :dunno_white:
H&K P7 PSP.
Meh, keeping the 1911 and buying the PSP. One can never have to many guns :icon_mrgreen: :2guns: :2guns:

Eh some on the left would disagree lol, hehe the NRA nominated the president as salesman of the month lol. i still want several guns, 1 a desert eagle.50, an ar50 ( again), a small glock to carry ( ccw) am acquiring in trade a keltec slim 9mm to carry, maybe gettign rid of my pt22 idk tho
Those DE 50s are something else. I rented on in Knoxville a while back. Decided I'd never own one after that. It was accurate and fairly controlable, but just not for me.
I'm mainly wanting to get a small pistol for CCW, still deciding on what kind I want for that.
Also thinking of something in a heavy bbl (243 or 22-250) for varmint shooting and a little coyote hunting. Although it seems that TN's regs make it hard to hunt coyotes here unlike WV who says go get them all whenever you can.
And I'll 2nd all the comments about 9's being flippy. My CZ certainly is.
If you're looking for something small, smaller than an Officer model 1911????, the Micro Eagle is an attractive looking piece and supposedly very reliable. On the other end, for about half the price you can get a SCCY 9mm that's also supposed to be very reliable and has the added benefit of being rated to NATO 9mm which is roughly equivalent to +P++. There's some +P++ 9mm out there with ballistics approaching .357mag levels.
DaMmit! The guy with the p7 decided he was going to keep it. On the bright side. I was drifting through a hop and snagged a minty p9s for dirt cheap :icon_mrgreen:

New German Toy!!! For those of you not familiar with Heckler and Koch's earlier designs: The P9S is a DA/SA, Roller delayed blowback, fixed barrel, single stack magazine-fed, full size handgun. It was particularly useful in SO circles due to the ease in silencing/suppressing (thread the barrel and twist it on, no modifications to the recoil system like are necessary on many other handguns) and incredible accuracy. It's reported that the weapon can hold an 8" shot group at 100yds and at 7m a fairly decent shot can produce very tight groups.

Well I went and joined the tupperware generation, due to limited holster, magazine and parts availability I traded the TA90 and soem cash for a springfield XD 9mm this past weekend. It's kind of odd getting used to having a weapon without an external hammer and safetys.

I had an XDM 9mm in the green/black combo. They're very nice guns.
The XD's are some of the better tupperware out there. The XDM's are ridiculous with magazine capacity :cookoo: Honestly, if you can't put it down with 17 shots of .45, you've got a really big problem.
I guess you could call the P9S tupperware. The frame is actually steel, but it's coated in plastic.
I wasn't real sure about the P9S when I bought it, but 300rds later, I'm pretty much in love. At 25ft, I can cover the 10rd shot group with a silver dollar. Recoil is excellent with very low muzzle flip for a 9mm, the trigger once in SA is so obscenely light that until you get past the learning curve you end up with unintentional follow up shots, while the DA trigger is ridiculously heavy and long. Take down is one button. The only thing I don't like about it is the mag release.
Yeah the XD9 has doubled my mag capacity, I have gone from 8 per mag in the .45 to 16 per mag in the 9mm, I went 9 for shooting events like steel challenge where I know I won't be able to recover all my brass. Factory loaded 9mm is cheap enough I won't cry if I don't recover my brass.
Shot an LCR the other day at the range, I might have to pick one up. it was very concealable and surprisingly controllable for an ultra-lightweight J frame. It was almost enjoyable to shoot and has a lot of potential as an SD weapon. If they had just gone all the way and made it a .357 instead of a .38sp I'd have one already.
I suck at taking pictures of stuff BTW. Here is my rifle in finished format.

A little birdy asked me which I would rather have recently: A bunch of high speed parts for my CCC or a Snub nosed magnaported model 29. I still can't decide...................my CCC would really like a warp speed trigger/hammer kit from cylinder and slide along with a pretty MSH and combat sights.....................but dirty harry's gun in pocket concealable size is dam tempting.
That shot gun looks like a freaking hoot!
Cyberdork, I've always been impressed with CZ, they aren't really the best at anything, but they do everything very well. Let us know how it shoots.
I'm still loving the P9S, it is so ridiculously accurate! I'm thinking about having a mount for an optic made, I know a guy that does one off tailored mounts pretty cheap.
Cyberdork, I like your choice in pistols. I have a CZ P01 myself.
I think you'll really love it.

Yep terry the shotgun is a hoot, this was the very first stage I shot with my buddies 930 I thought the buzzer had gone off when I hit the bridge, and I had never run a shotgun before so my reload fu sucked. I finished 6th overall in the shotgun class and took 2nd place on one of the last stage of the day I missed tying the stage winner by one target.

NOT! I wouldn't give Dr. Ignatius Piazza the sweat off my sack after a hard days work. TDSA, Tulsa Defensive Shooting Academy. These guys train special ops guys from various branches and get rave reviews, met a soviet spetnaz operator some ex sf guys and one of my classmates was a secret service agent who worked for 5 presidents and commanded a secret service counter assault team when he worked for uncle sam. It's actully kinda funny but I live in an area that has some of the best shooters in the US living here as well as 2 of the highest rated tactical training facilities in the US TDSA and US Shooting academy. As a matter of fact one of the guys who comes and trains in Tulsa lives around the corner from front sight.
It was my first time to train with a weapons platform and it was absolutely amazing, even more amazing to find out some of these guys I trained with have done this class plus the level 2 class 5 or 6 times and keep coming back for more because it's light years beyond what they are getting in the military.

Picked up a little Taurus Ultralite .38spl today. Haven't gotten it out to the range, but it looks like a solid little gun and it fits in my jeans pocket which was what I was looking for in a gun. Threw some Winchester +p bonded hp's in it and it's sitting on the night stand next to the P9S while the Colt is in its night time holster on the side of my mattress, the Mossberg by the door. I pity the moron that decides he wants to break in to this house.
I consider myself a bit of a firearms enthusiast (I have about a dozen firearms of various configurations.) I got BRD last year when I picked up this little beauty:
Older photo of my FN FS2000. Now it has a new tri-rail forend and GripPod on front (vertical with a spring loaded bipod.) It's a f@cking blast to shoot (literally and figuratively,) and turns a lot of heads at the range. About $2750 US invested when last I checked.
Nice FN! I have been looking at the PS90. I really wish I knew someone that had one I could play with for a while to see if I like it's manual of arms. I like the weight and compactness of the PS90 but I want to try running one to see how the mag changes go with it.
I want the FS2000.
I'm not willing to be an early adopter on this, but it looks promising

I got to train with a retired army 18D and a former 18B working for triple canopy now. I also had an active duty PO with naval SWC in my class.
Not to mention several law enforcement officers, active and reserve military and private security opreators and none of them gave me the sole civillian in their class the attitude and flak that you give us on this forum. They were in fact the exact opposite helpful and more than willing to accept a civillian willing to become a sheepdog into their ranks.
I think you are distubed and possibly a fake.
TC seems to be 'the' place these days. Xe/Blackwater is getting really finnicky about things from what I hear.
Those SWCC boys are a hoot and anyone that says they aren't SO is a god dam idiot. All around though, guys in those positions tend to be truly considerate individuals with a great respect for life and love to help anyone that truly wants to better themselves.
