Title: Relaxing the hands and the bike wants to lean further
Post by: lamoun on November 05, 2009, 11:24:49 AM
The story goes like this.
Done the CSS couple years back. One thing we've been told is to relax our hands as much as we can while turning, so the bike can hold it's track..
After leaning to the turn, and relaxing the hands, I felt that the bike keeps leaning more. The instructor told me that it was probably my idea and its is natural that I would feel it like that, because NOW the bike can hold the line.

Today was riding the track with a friend of mine (cbr600 - he also did the CSS) and describing my problem I gave him the bike for a ride. He came out after just one lap "YES THE BIKE LEANS MORE BY ITSELF!"

So guys have you noticed something similar?

The problem seems tire independent as it happens on ΒΤ-090 stock front 140/70 rear, and a new pair of Pilot Active in stock dimensions.
Pressure: 30F - 28R and 32F - 30R (pressure suggested by the instructors and is generally accepted among track users)

does it lean more in both directions, or more when turning left than right? or vis versa.  also the stock rear is sposed to be a 130/70 tire so that may affect it.

It does it both ways  :D
So probably it is not a matter of rear tire alignment.

I haven't  noticed if it's more prominent in one direction.
