I crashed my GS500F. Had to part with it.
I want to thank all of you who answered my newbie questions and allowed me to grow with my GS500F mechanically. Thank goodness i made it my first bike no doubt. I loved modding my bike.. too bad it didnt equate to more worth...

How did you crash it? How many miles you put on the GS?
Very nice upgrade, how much you pick that up for?
how much did u get for the crashed gs500, also any pics of it after the crash?
very nice new bike.. one of the best choices imo
Welcome to the ranks of those who have moved on from the GS but still love it and this forum.
Sorry to hear about the accident. Beautiful new bike.
Are you going to part out the old gs? If so I would be interested in the front and rear red brake disk.
That's one heck of a nice upgrade. Congratulations!!!
Seamax.. that bike is gone. insurance took away. I can tell you exactly how i got those red disk. i just painted it using spray paint from pep boys. somewhere in here i made a write up of it. just search my name.
no pics of the crash. only cosmetic damage but more money to fix than cost of bike so they totalled it. i didnt want to buy back.. it hurts to see all your hard mod work and one side looks trashed.
this new bike is amazing.. i feel like i am riding on the front wheel. very agressive stance.. its learning all over again. but thanks to the gs. throtle and clutch control are well ingrained in my head.
Blue...what color and brand paint did you use for the disks?
New bike looks awesome, that's a great paint job. I went from a Triumph(speed4) to the GS. I swore I'd never own one again, but I bet someday I will.

for the brake used the duplicolor base primer then the red metalcast paint. suppose to withstand up to 500degrees farenheit of heat without chipping. this part was just me following polish rim how to in the wiki section. much props to him.
You Bastard....are you down for the annual "Three Peaks" ride Memorial Day 2010, I can ride my GSX650F to keep you in sight??

Yeah, that is Chinook Pass, Washington State the day the pass opened for the season and they are closer to 12 Ft maybe?
You're not giving up on track days, are you? It looked like you were doing really well other than the crash.
not my choice.. scared my wife so i am banned for 1 year from the track. its the best i could do.
Haze, I think I am jealous of you. Nope, I am indeed jealous of you. I just realized that I should have saved the $1800 I am puttin into my GS and make a new purchase. Damn that is a sexy Daytona!!! I am more than sure you will enjoy it far more than a GS. Hopefully insurance helped you out a bit on that purchase.
Ryan, good looking bike...hope to see it soon on a ride.
