I just got a new SF headlight, two horzontal rectangles on top of one another, pretty sweet lookin with the gold bars behind em. But NOT sweet looking with al the wires that used to be in the old housing. I need some ideas on how to cover thse up or relocate them at a low cost. No theres not engough room inside the new headlight housing.
Thanks guys,
greg
Put everything inside a wire loom. works wonders
well if the wire looms that your talkin abot is the same kind i googled, then good idea, but that wont work for me. well i guess it would work. buuuuut. im gonna keep thinkin. thanks though. i might still do my paintball mask idea that the one polish guy took from me. ( i know he didnt actually take my idea, but when i opended that topic up i was furious that he did that. i thought i was being original when i thought of it.) still might do it though cause i got a way sicker mask then him. i got some 08 Events. (if your a paintballer like me, your goin "ooooooh yeeeeea thats gonna be siiiiiiiick") but anywya mine are blue heres a pic of the mask i was gonna use before i decided to get the SF headlamp setup. and the mask would have hid all my wires.

but where you see red mine are blue.
when I was running the dual headlights, I hid the wiring under the tank, and extended the wires for the headlights and turn signals.
bad pic I know, but I wanted to post it up anyway!

Just tuck one of these behind the new headlight mounts.
Then you can be the only GS with 2 lunchboxes. :icon_mrgreen:

ahhaha nice box. i just remebered yesterday, a pic that i saw and i think it was on here of someones bike in which they had like a big maybe 2 inch inside diameter tube that was curved and it had all the wires in it. Does anyone know what im talking about? i dont remember if it was on here or a differant site.
If you do know it, please post a pic of it or post the link. :thumb:
You should be able to hide most of them under the tank without it costing you any thing more than the cost of a roll of electrical tape. Wiring harnesses for a while were one of those things I feared and wouldn't even touch, but if you gently cut off the outside cover, making sure not to slide up any of the wires, you can re-route any of them, and then just wrap the whole thing back up in the tape. I haven't messed with a GS harness, so I don't know how long all the wires are, as someone else here said they had to extend the lines for the headlight, but I only see that being an issue if you didn't actually unwrap the wiring harness. Extending them could be an easy option if you didn't want to pull it apart because you could just stick the whole clump of wires how they are under the tank if you made extensions.
I found a soldering iron when i was cleaning up the basement this past weekend, I need to teach myself how to solder so random projects like that, although in this situation you could probably skip solder if you just had some little connectors and extra wire. Instead of cutting yours up just cut an extra peice of wire and fit connectors on each end that will attach to the stock ones. They'll be like those little seat belt extensions they give you on air planes when you're too big to fit with the normal length belt.
As far as that tube, just go look around the electrical section of home depot or an electronics store, I'm sure they have plastic tubes for that same purpose.
