i'm borrowing my bro's alpinestar textile jacket, it's more of a summer jacket being perferated.   i think the padding is well designed and lands well on the body.  it's really comfortable but not warm,  which is my only problem with it.   so with my limited experience it would be a good buy.
any gear you buy for protection is a good buy.

If it's not perforated or vented in some way, it's going to get hot, no matter the color.

Alpinestars has good customer service. I know bcause my a-stars textile jacket (Dyna model I think) was good but it had the same wrist straps as the one you're looking at and after a while the throttle side frayed the stitching on the jacket from turning my wrist. They replaced it once for free and the second time I paid the difference to upgrade to leather. Was well worth it to go leather. Mind I only had the textile jacket 7 months total. Watch that type of strap if you go textile. leather used different type.
