Title: Weird electrical gremlins after teardown.
Post by: mitch.lax on December 02, 2009, 12:59:05 AM
Hey guys

Just tore down my bike to paint the frame, engine and swingarm, and now the bike does nothing electrically when in gear. In neutral the lights, indicators, brake and tail lights, starter, ignition all work, but when it's in gear, there's no electrics at all (bar the idiot lights).

Any ideas?

Cheers
Mitch

Mitch,

Was up your way the other week. Rode through Toowoomba to the Oakey Army Aircraft Museum, onto Goombungee for lunch at the pub (delicious) and back down via Perseverance Dam and onto Esk.

Anyway. Sounds like what happens when you leave the sidestand down inasmuch as nothing when it is put into gear. I'd follow the wiring from there, any your clutch switch too. Think you'll find something put together wrong along those lines.
