Anybody have a digitized version of the users guide that comes with the bike when sold new? or found one on the web? i have looked and looked, but no luck.
I have a haynes manual which has everything, often too much, and for looking up simple things quickly the other might be nice. I found the link on this site to the haynes as well, very nice.
I think the bike 89-99 is pretty much the same as the 01-02, aside from the carbs and the seat, is that correct? so that manual would be fine too.
Thanks!
i have a digital copy up to 99. i fouund the link on here. just put manual into the search bar

use this to download it.
thanks, that is the link I found before, I think it is for the service manual, which I have, although not positive as its not letting me download it at the moment. Is that what it is?
I am looking for the simple little users manual that comes with the bike and tells you the simple stuff like what kind of oil to use and stuff like that.
If I find some time over the weekend I'll scan it or something similar (take photos of the pages) and put it into a PDF. We've got the Ipswich Toy Run tomorrow - over 800 bikes will be there - so I could be a little busy :icon_mrgreen:

yea my bad. it is the service manual. All black cover with thick white stripe that says GS500E and right below it says service manual
been out of town for a while, michael, how was the show? any chance to scan/photo the manual? that would be really great! if it doesnt work out, no worries, though.

The show... well, here's a couple of snaps...
Marshalling area. There were bikes parked behind me when I took this.

ON the left side row of bikes, just after the big blue/white flag you can see a green short sleeve. My helmet is above the sleeve - the sleeve is of the rider in front of me on a cruiser.

In the end it was 750 bikes.
Anyway. Yes, I did scan the manual. I made a thread for it http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=51112.0 Or direct link http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/10/7/2133953/GS500-OwnerManual.pdf

You are in luck, one member was nice enough to scan his owners manual :thumb: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=51112.0

Thanks! that is great, much quicker reference for the usual things with the bike, and now it feels complete having the manual. thanks for taking the trouble to scan it all!! yours is probably the only one anywhere in the www.
that show looks good, loads of bikes!
