Title: Bike possibly for the scrap :(
Post by: platinum_black on December 27, 2009, 09:17:07 AM
had the worst christmas this year, gf screwed me and dumped me on boxing day, then kicked me out to which i ended up taking a spill on the bike and think its not worth fixing and i screwed my leg.

ended up destorying front caliper, disk, and petrol tank, insurance company only have it covered for £500 being that is all i paid for it.

im looking at about £250 to fix it and i totally cant afford it.

Sorry to hear about your holiday. Was there any other damage to the forks/front wheel? That'd be crazy if there was only damage to parts inside the wheels and nothing else. I bet you could replace those two fairly cheaply from someone parting out their bike on here. The tank will probably cost about $100 either way on ebay.

Hope your new years goes a little better!

as I have proven, you can totally ride your bike with a dented gas tank!  I've been doing it for over a year now!

and if it helps I have a caliper you can have. It has the brake line and reservoir attached, you'd just have to swap your brake lever and brake pads. The only thing left will be finding a brake disc.

that would really help loads but what would the shipping be from the states to the uk?
