Title: Chain sprocket confusion
Post by: flyingmachine on December 29, 2009, 02:03:46 PM
About to place an order with Bike Bandit, then I noticed a discrepancy between the pitch of the rear sprockets recommended.

recommended by their parts picker (530/114)

should I pay more and get this?

the front sprocket had a pitch of 520 in the order summary (doesn't have it's own page?)

Was planning to get a 110

Does that shopping list seems right?  16/39/520x110  basically stock.   thanks,

IIRC stock is 16/39 both are 520 and chain is a 520-110 dont let BB's parts picker tell you the gs500 in any year is a 530 pitch

That's what I dislike the most about BikeBandit, they use their own part numbers for everything and you can't check against the mfg part numbers.  I like the way Dennis Kirk does it with complete info you can verify:

Correct JT parts for 89-93 GS:
