Title: Gs500f Turn signal switch
Post by: dauphinc on January 04, 2010, 11:19:48 PM
Hey y'all, just got a used gs500f,2007 model, 5600 miles. I paid 2900 for it! Good deal or about the going rate?
Anyways, the guy I got it from said it had "self cancelling turn signals on it". Basically he screwed it all up. There are loose connections everywhere and I have to mess with the wiring because he sucks. My question is, are you supposed to be able to push the signal button in to cancel The signal? Mine go for about 5 blinks then turn off. I dislike this. I want to go back to stock, and I was wondering if someone screwed with my signal button.

the stock signal will blink endlessly untill you push the button in. it sounds like he installed some thing to make them turn off after a few blinks

"Self canceling turn signals"  :icon_lol:

Some bikes do have this, but not a stock GS500.  You'll want to go back to stock I suppose.

Wiring diagram can be found in the wiki: http://wiki.gstwins.com

I would very much so like to go back to stock. These self cancelling signals are crap on wheels and an accident waiting to happen. Where would I get OEM wiring and such? Already have the diagrams through Haynes.
