Title: Flywheel
Post by: NEIL on January 06, 2010, 02:05:24 AM
I have GS 550 K3 2003 with a damaged flywheel for the alternator. The magnets have craked and become dislodged. Does anyone know if I could use 1 from an earlier GS 500? I am struggling with this.  :technical:

Assuming that was a typ0 and you have a gs500,  you should be able to swap yours for any year and be fine.

Just some random trivia for the future... Suzuki comes up with their model numbers based on the year. k3=2003, k5=2005, k7=2007, so just to save you time in the future, saying you have a k3 2003 is just double the typing you have to do.

Go on BikeBandit or similar and compare the part numbers between years.

G ooooooo aaaaaaaaa tttttttttttt sssssssssssss
ggggggg oooooooooo aaaaaaaaaa tttttttttttttt sssssss ...

Did it hit the stator ... look at that closely ...

Also clean out the starter clutch, idler gears, crank case etc ... frequent oil changes ... if it is indeed in the thing.

Remember ... No goats, no glory.

Cool.
