Hey,
just wondering if anyone knows any good webites or informations on buying a front fairing kit for a Suzuki GS 500 2002? I would love to make it look a little more like the new GS500F without doing any intensive work, but the real goal is just add a front fairing so I can attach a windshield without it looking to awkward.
Any suggesstions welcomed.
Thanks.
And glad to be part of the GStwin club; looks like theres some hardcore fans.
There aren't too many aftermarket versions of the F fairing, but you could look around the for sale section here or on ebay and just pick up a used F fairing that you. You'd have to find a way to attach the bracket to mount it a long with the headlight. I don't think there's any way around the fact that you'd have to have a tab welded onto the front of your frame for it to mount to.
If you just want a windshield but don't want it to look goofy, try looking for a little windscreen off another naked bike. Some of the Ducati Monster fairings look like they'd give a good bit of wind protection. I have one from a buell cyclone that isn't too big, but it definitely gives you a little something to tuck behind. I've seen a lot of good looking windscreens on the sv650 forums too. I think Givi makes one that still looks pretty sporty. If you look around and find some pictures of bikes with windshields you like we'd be able to help you find one a little better.
and welcome to the site!
I thought Givi A210 (headlight bracket mounted) looked really good on my '01 GS; small and sporty. Ruined it in a crash. Just got a Givi A603 (handlebar mounted), which looks about twice as tall as the A210, but haven't mounted it (since my GS has been in the shop for service).
this is mine, it is a givi, for a sv650 and it fits great, while not looking too awkward
